Mental Health Week is coming around again and what better way to celebrate the importance of mental health by coming to some of the events the PSA will be running from the 10th to the 14th of October!

Monday 10th October – PSA and School of Psychology Bake Sale
Time: 2:30 – 3:30PM
Location: Psychology Courtyard
Bring along some donation money, receive baked goods!
All proceeds go to Beyond Blue and R U OK?

Tuesday 11th October – PSA Panel Q&A Discussion
Time: 5-6:30PM
Location: Innes Room
Cost: $5 for non-members, free for members
Light refreshments provided
Speakers from a variety of organisations will be in attendance for a Q&A style session, with questions such as ‘What do individuals require from mental health professionals now more than ever before?’ and ‘What major skills are sought after in mental health professionals in 2016 that we might not have seen 20, or even 10 years ago?’

Wednesday 12th October – PSA Puppy Party
Time: TBA
Location: Psychology Courtyard
Puppies, puppies, and puppies. Free for everybody!

Thursday 13th October – PSA Mindfulness Workshop
Time: 5-6PM
Location: Building 24A (McElwain), Rooms 203 & 204
A casual mindfulness information session followed by a guided mindfulness workshop, assisting those interested in using mindfulness as a clinical technique or for personal purposes!

Friday 14th October – PSA & UQYMC Yoga and Meditation Session
Time: 2-3PM
Location: Multifaith Chaplaincy Centre
UQYMC (Yoga and Meditation Club) are providing a qualified yoga instructor to run through a guided yoga and meditation session, teaching us different breathing techniques and poses that can help us when we need to de-stress the most.
