So come and join us on Thursday night with some movie snacks (popcorn is a must, duh!), sweet Afghan chai (a.k.a tea) as we watch the beautiful story of friendships and dreams.
One would wonder why not? Set against the dramatic landscape of contemporary Afghanistan and the National sport of Buzkashi - a brutal game of horse polo played with a dead goat – “Buzkashi Boys” is a ground-breaking narrative film about two best friends, a charismatic street urchin and a defiant blacksmith's son, who strive to realize their dreams as they make their way to manhood in one of the most war-torn countries on Earth. Shot entirely on location in Kabul by an alliance of Afghan and international filmmakers, “Buzkashi Boys” is a heart-rending look at the life that continues beyond the headlines of war in Afghanistan.
The screening will be followed by a warm and open discussion about the movie and some issues AND beauties it points out.
Your company is always a pleasure, as Afghans love being good mezbans (hosts) to their mehmans (guests). Ba omid-e-deedar! (hope to see you there!)
