The Eastern University Games is managed by Australian University Sport (AUS), the governing body of university sport in Australia, and hosted by the University of Wollongong (UOW) in partnership with the NSW Government through its tourism and major events agency Destination NSW, and Wollongong City Council.

It is one of four regional Games held simultaneously across Australia, with a range of sports serving as the qualifying competition for the 2016 Australian University Games (25th - 30th of September) at Perth.

The 2016 Eastern University Games will be held in Wollongong from 3 – 7 of July 2016. With 19 sports on offer, the event is expected to attract more than 3,000 competitors.

Sports include; AFL 9’s, basketball, badminton, football, futsal, golf, hockey, indoor cricket, lawn bowls, league of legends, netball, OZ tag, squash, table tennis, tennis, tenpin bowling, touch football, ultimate and volleyball.
