Contrary to what people usually think, the subject is not really all about maths. It's more about understanding concepts behind it. To do well, you need to have problem-solving techniques for every topic and practice a variety of questions so you won't be "shocked" in the final exam.

ECON1203 is a mixture of probability and ecnomics. It requires your math ability well, also the feeling of graph

Worst subject ever, tutors and lecturer in charge are absolutely the least helpful. Seem to take pleasure in displaying the incredibly high fail rate.

Has the reputation of being one of the tougher first year subjects in the Business faculty. Doing well in the course requires hard work throughout the semester, as each week builds heavily upon the previous weeks content. Slacking off for even a couple of weeks can result in you quickly becoming lost. But overall it's an interesting and enjoyable subject if you work hard and can wrap your head around all the concepts.

ECON1203 is actually an easy and interesting subject if you stay on top of it. I've already used some of what I've learned in the workforce, which is a pro of this subject. The reason why I've rated it four stars is that they make it too complex when they teach it. It really doesn't need to be that complicated - especially the descriptions in the lecture slides.

Lecturers can't teach, tutors can't teach, not sure if anyone knew how to teach joke of a course

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2013

Worst subject ever. You know this when you're absolutely stoked with an overall mark of 50.

The lecturer was annoying so was my tutor who reminded me of a mouse. Material is alright but bordering on the hard side. I've spoken to 3 and 4 unit maths students and they were like this is bullcrap, that background didn't help. It does help to understand how the formulas work. It definitely takes a lot of time to revise and understand the new language of stats

Are you a masochist!?! Then this is THE course for you. Enter a world where lectures teach you nothing, speed through a textbook you won't understand and complete homework by begging past students for old solutions. Plus, there's the added treat of randomly selected group presentations and 2 forthrightly quizzes which will take your ENTIRE weekend to study for only to barely pass. Interested?!? Sign up today!

Its bad. Don't do it, unless you're really really unbelievably good at self studying because the lecturers and tutorials didn't help at all.
