Join us as we listen to Mechai Viravaidya, Honorary Officer of the Order of Australia and the 1999 UNAIDS Ambassador as he takes us through his journey from University of Melbourne graduate to becoming the chief architect in Family Planning and HIV prevention; building Thailand's comprehensive national HIV/AIDS prevention policy which has seen HIV infections reduce by 90% and oversaw one of the most rapid declines in population growth in the modern era.

A pioneer in Thailand's social mobilization and community development efforts Mechai has endeavored to eradicate poverty where others have fallen short and is Village Development Partnership has seen the empowerment of community, income generation, health, environment and education.
