UNSW Law 101

Organised by:
UNSW Law Society

Dear 2nd year UG/PG Law students,

REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW OPEN for the Clayton Utz Intermediate Negotiations Competition 2016 + Workshop!

The ability to negotiate in an effective strategic manner is an invaluable skill in the practice of law, and for your personal lives. The competition provides an engaging platform for you to develop strategic planning and soft skills.

The fact scenarios will enable you to interact with problems involving wide-ranging areas of law; with the focus being on your ability to analyse these problems in the context of the relationship between the parties and their interests, rather than simply looking at the legal component of the problem.

UNSW has the great privilege of having Dr Rosemary Howell as the architect of our Masters of Dispute Resolution Program. Rosemary has decades of experience in the practice of “Appropriate Dispute Resolution” [the preferable term of the acronym ADR], and also provides dispute resolution training to a wide range of organisations including The Commonwealth Bank and the ACCC.

Rosemary will be running the COMPULSORY training workshop, which at least one member of each partnership must attend, on Monday 1 August [Week 2] 6-8pm.
