The Inaugural AUJS Victorian Winter Internship Program

Are you interested in Australian politics? Are you passionate about being politically aware and active? Do you want to gain hands-on, political experience?

If you answered yes to any of those question, you are invited to apply for the rare opportunity to intern in the office of a Victorian Member of Parliament. In its first year, the Victorian Winter Internship Program (VWIP) aims to provide internships for AUJS members during the winter break and enable students greater access into the exciting world of politics.

Details of the VWIP
- The internships will last for 2 weeks, at the end of the winter break. Successful applicants will be matched with an MP and will volunteer in their office full-time.
- Successful applicants will undergo a day for training to prepare them for the internships and the necessary skills required to be politically active.
- Interns, their host offices and communal leaders will be invited to a cocktail party to celebrate their internships, after the formal internships have ended.

Key Dates
- Monday June 13th: Applications close
- Thursday June 30th: Successful applicants are notified
- Sunday July 10th: Internship training seminar
- Monday July 11th – Friday July 22nd: Internships
- *celebratory cocktail party TBA
