Michael Ellison, the Sydney Conservation Volunteers Australia (CVA) Regional Manager. Michael has worked in nature conservation for about 25 years. He managed nature reserves in the UK (Michael is English) for about 15 years with the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds – Europe’s largest nature conservation charity.

Michael has been with CVA for 6.5 years, pretty much the length of time he’s been in Australia. He has a broad interest in natural history but his specific background is with birds – typical of a British wildlife enthusiast! Other interests are travel, walking, history and art, he follows various sports and loves good beer (which is not hard to find in Australia as it used to be…!).

Michael will chat to us a bit at the Learning Centre and then (if the weather permits) will take us to Mistral Point in Maroubra for some whale and seabird watching. He has a telescope and binoculars, but if you have your own please bring it along!
