Location:
The Mech Kingdom

Organised by:
Mechanical Engineering Society

Citizens of the United States of Mechanical Engineering,

We come before you today to announce a turning point in MechSoc history; The ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING. A time to celebrate this past year. To look back and remember the laughs, the banter, the beers, victories and defeats. A time to say goodbye to those who have served nobly and hand the tongs over to the new life blood of the Mech Eng Kingdom.

STAND AND BE COUNTED! This will be held 12-2pm, with voting at 12:30, during our usual BBQ on WEDNESDAY the 7th of October (Week 10) 2015 outside the Ainsworth building. The food and beverage will be aplenty.

Make no mistake, Lawn Bowls will be still on as always in usual MechSoc fashion. Though our beloved Arc has requested that we get the officious elements done early.

WE HAVE A DREAM! A dream filled with beers, banter and BBQ’s, a dream free from fear and rid of the tyrannies of Civil Engineering. No doubt, our new Captain’s will see that dream realised. Please send through any nominations for Mechsoc executive positions to unswmechsociety@gmail.com.

This year we lose two rocks of MechSoc:

- Laura Sacks – Our fearless leader. On to change the world she goes; O Captain OUR Captain.

- Francis Carreon – The resident Minister for Banter, Bant-King, CEO of Bantech. The man could spin yarn’s better than a 1800’s seamstress.

Though we will still be around, side-by-side in the trenches, we leave you with this lasting sentiment:

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,

Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

HUZZAH!

N.B This event is proudly supported by our beloved Arc.

Love,

MechSoc xoxo
