The Art of Naseeha: Enjoining the Good and Forbidding the Evil in 2015 | IAFUNSW |

And let there be [arising] from you a nation inviting to [all that is] good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and those will be the successful. Qur'an [3:104]

We’ve all heard about the importance of the obligation to enjoin the good and forbid the evil. However today it’s been something that’s almost been abandoned, and the few who do try to practice it often do so in a way opposed to the Sunnah of the Prophet sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam. Often those who give naseeha end up coming off as harsh and judgemental, while others, fearing how others will take it, cease to advise at all.

It’s with this in mind that IAFUNSW presents ‘The Art of Nasheea: Enjoining the Good and Forbidding the evil in 2015’. What does this command mean? What situations does it apply to? How was it historically carried out? What does it practically mean today? What is the correct way to give ‘naseeha’ to someone?

Shaykh Rami Al-Sharawneh has taken time out of his schedule to help us address this critical issue which affects young Muslims on a daily basis on and off campus. He is the director and CEO of Quordoba Investments, and is also studying through correspondence at Dar Al Fatawa in Egypt. He gives talks and classes throughout Sydney to a range of audiences.

Join us for an afternoon filled with beneficial knowledge and naseeha (lol)!
