LET'S LIVE BELOW THE LINE 2016!

$2 a day. 5 days. Are you willing to challenge yourself to do the nearly impossible? Join BSOC as we Live Below the Line while raising funds with Oaktree Foundation to help tackle extreme poverty.

76% of all funds YOU raise will help create opportunities for young people just like us. The funds raised will go to providing books, uniforms and education programs for teachers and students in Cambodia, Timor-Leste and Papua New Guinea.

From 2-6th May, we want YOU to join and support this cause by donating and/or participating in Live Below the Line! Since 2010, over 40 000 Australians have taken on the challenge of Live Below the Line and raised over $9 million. It's now time for you to make a lasting impact to help in the fight against poverty!

BSOC will be giving away prizes to the people at the top of the leader board, so get those donations in and get hyped! BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR PRIZE UPDATES!

===PARTICIPATION===
Here are some simple instructions on how to join LiveBelowTheline under Team UNSW BSOC! Stay up to date with your friends, and have a chance of winning awesome prizes!

1. FORM YOUR TEAM!
Come up with a creative team name that really tells us about you! Once you’ve agreed on your team name have your members search and join the team. Compete against your friends and see who can truly survive the LBL Challenge.

Make sure to join the ‘UNSW Business Society’ for your team to join our network! This way you can keep track of the leader board to see who is in the lead! Here’s a link to access our network, be part of team BSOC.

We recommend around 6-8 people per team! Your team will allow you to support us as well as sharing tips and experiences between yourselves. You can also share ingredients and cook together or even generate media to keep us up to date with your LBL experience!

2. ORGANISE YOUR LBL GAME PLAN: PLAN AHEAD
Pool your money allowance to buy more food and have a greater variety (Bulk buy yeah!). We understand that $10 dollars isn’t a lot of money to buy everything, but as a team there’s a lot more you can do (a lot more you can cook!). 3. KEEP EVERYONE POSTED!
LiveBelowTheLine shouldn’t be an individual experience. SO share all your experiences with us! Post up your fun, excitement, your pain and meals on Facebook, Instagram, blog entries, videos and even snapchat! Blogging will help you keep up to date with others as well as your own journey from start to finish. Also don’t forget to hashtag #BSOCbelowtheline – to see other’s experiences as well as upload your own!

4. START ASKING FOR DONATIONS AND GET FUNDRAISING!
From family to friends, ask absolutely EVERYONE and ANYONE to donate to this awesome cause. Send them your link, it will direct them to your page where they can send an online transfer for an easy method of not only supporting YOU but many awesome works that Oaktree does!

5. GENERAL TIPS ON FUNDRAISING AND FINALISING DONATIONS!
Like before ask anyone and everyone! It’s an awesome cause so I’m sure all your friends won’t mind to give a little back, infact even get them to sign up for this awesome challenge! Encourage them to do it with you and share the experience together.

When collecting donations, try collect them in cash as well! After collecting it in person you can just send in the donation yourself (or you can even ask them for a message that you would like them to send you!).
