The Beginners Witness Examination Workshop will introduce the structure and nature of the Competition to competitors.

The Workshop will cover:
- Opening and closing statements
- Examination in chief
- Cross examination
- Preparing the witness
- Objections
- A brief demonstration of cross examination will be given.

Students who are unable to attend the workshop are still able to compete in the Competition.

Beginners Witness Examination is a courtroom trial advocacy simulation. In pairs, students will play the role of either the prosecution or defence counsel, or witness in a criminal trial. It is open to all years, but priority will be given to first years.
