Beginners Witness Examination is a courtroom trial advocacy simulation. In pairs, students will play the role of either the prosecution or defence counsel in a criminal trial. Students may also play the role of the witness to be questioned. Students will be required to give an opening and closing address, and question the witnesses.

It is open to all years, but priority will be given to first years. Students who have competed in the Witness Examination Competition are not eligible. Students who did not qualify for the Witness Examination Competition are eligible.

Beginners Witness Examination will not run like a competition, but aims to gives students exposure to the courtroom process and the opportunity to develop skills in trial advocacy.

Registration closes on Sunday 26 March
