I did learn some useful and interesting things from the subject itself, but the lecturer... He may be passionate, but I found it soooo hard to stay awake during lectures and the lecture slides were all just FULL of text and things seemed to be explained in overcomplicated ways.. Most of my actual learning in this subject was from the concise and helpful explanations of my tutor during tutorials, so my tip would be to focus on the tutes - preparing well for those and asking lots of questions there, rather than asking the lecturer.

The subject is interesting and full of useful knowledge. It is very practical as it explains the knowledge with real-life examples.

Overall the subject is very engaging. There's a heaps of topics to cover, but the enthusiasm and passion of both the lecturer and tutors are really there. For Sem1 2014 run, I have Dr Richards as our lecturer and you can really feel his dedication in teaching the subject. Two thumbs up!
