Come along for an awesome night filled with all your “Bass Desires” with the Engineering Music Society Big Bands and special guest Rare Child!

The Engineering Music Society is one of the largest music groups at the University of Melbourne. The EMS Big Band celebrates the sound that only a full horn, woodwind and rhythm section can bring. They perform pieces from soundtracks to jazz standards, satires to symphonies, and have as much fun as they can in performing them.

Rare Child bring together disparate influences from Neko Case to Jeff Lang to The Chieftains, Rare Child’s gypsy-jazz inflected folk both fascinates and delights audiences. Rare Child’s songs of pet magpies and cautionary tales of venture capitalists wittily observe and chronicle their journey from the bush to the city.

Come along for an evening where your ears will be graced with the fine melodies of EMS Big band performing songs such as Blackbird, Minnie the Moocher and much much more!!!
