MUSC is calling for auditions for their upcoming production The Taming of the Shrew. The production will from the 14th to the 24th of October.

We are looking for a cast of twelve with an array of male and female roles available. This is a new, not so comic take on the classic comedy, which will look closely at the nature of domestic hierarchies and the various methods, including violence, that are used to keep those power structures in place.

Auditions will be held on the 27th, 30th and 31st of July with callbacks on the 3rd of August. Email mu.shakespeare@gmail.com with the subject line Shrew Auditions for an audition pack. If you have any questions concerning the audition process or the production itself please don't hesitate to get in contact.

Auditionees are asked to prepare a short monologue of 1-2 minutes from any Shakespearean play. You do not need to perform something from Taming of the Shrew, prepare something that you are comfortable with and that shows off your strengths. There will be cold reads of scenes from the play in the auditions and callbacks.

Rehearsals will be 3 times a week, but will be scheduled to fit study timetables and work schedules as much as possible.

We encourage everyone and anyone to audition!
