The Melbourne International Relations Society (MIRS) is absolutely delighted to announce that we will be holding a Crisis Council from Wednesday, 25 November 2015 to Friday, 27 November 2015.

A crisis council is a fast-paced multi-day simulation of an international relations event where delegates represent an individual, such as a minister or head of state.

Additional queries can be emailed to Sarah at president@mirs.org.au.

Applications open now until Sunday, 22 November 2015: http://goo.gl/forms/lgtkr3dwA9

The socials fee for three days of Crisis Council is $90. We are very excited to announce that this will cover lunches for all three days as well as two socials!

What if the Germans won the First World War?
What if France and Britain fell to socialist revolutions in the 20s?

In 1915 a faulty German torpedo failed to sink the cruise liner Lusitania. The damage done however made abundantly clear that the ship was secretly smuggling war materials from the USA to the UK. The resulting political uproar ensured that the United States never entered the war, and that Germany subsequently overpowered the Entente powers between 1919 and 1921.
Now Germany stands astride the world as dominant power, red governments hold power in France, Britain and even in the United States where economic decline finally became critical. Old powers such as Austria-Hungary persist while German sponsored Imperial Governments persist in many locations around the world, including in China.
The old democratic powers have been laid low but bide their time. In Canada, British exiles work to build up industry and arms, while in Australasia Prime Minister John Monash readies this bastion of the British Empire for a new conflict.
For the first time ever, MIRS offers delegates a chance take the role of major powers in an exciting alternative universe with the chance to decide just what form the likely rapidly approaching 2nd World War will take.
