It’s clear that capitalism isn’t working. People across the world are horrified that Trump is U.S. President. Racism is on the rise, climate change is approaching tipping points, inequality is growing and the economic crisis drags on. The idea of socialism has been re-popularised by political figures Bernie Sanders in the US and Jeremy Corbyn in the UK. But what exactly IS socialism? Can it replace the market? Does it mean USSR-style communism? Can it come through parliament? This talk will discuss what a truly democratic and equal society would look like, and how to get there. Come along and join the discussion!
