The LSS Women’s and Competitions Portfolios are pleased to invite you to the Women’s Mooting Competition Grand Final Gala. Even in 2016, women lawyers remain under-represented at the bar. This event has been organised to encourage women identifying students to participate in mooting and improve their advocacy skills.

The Grand Final will be judged by a panel of Professor Lisa Sarmas and Katrina Howard SC.

Professor Sarmas is a member of the Victorian Bar and a Senior Lecturer in both Trusts and LMR at Melbourne Law School. She sits on the chair of the JD and Equal Opportunity Committees.

Katrina Howard SC specialises in the field of Intellectual Property. She has appeared in numerous cases in the High Court and Federal Court of Australia. In 2012, Katrina was voted best female lawyer (intellectual property) in Australia, in Doyle’s Guide to the Australian Legal Profession.

Drinks and light food will be provided prior to the moot from 6.30pm in the Moot Court and will continue after the conclusion of the competition. Please join us in celebrating the achievements of your fellow law students!
