Thursday 6 October is the Grand Final of the IHL Mooting Competition. Please come along at 6:15pm for a 6:30pm start.
Come along and see Team JDT Juliana Macula, Danae Wheeler and Tori Landale as prosecution against Team JMN aka Nikki Hagler, Julia Korolkova and Maria Victoria Downie.
Presiding over the panel. Law School Professor: Tim McCormack. Tim is the Special Adviser on International Humanitarian Law to the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in The Hague and a Director of World Vision Australia. Tim was the Foundation Australian Red Cross Professor of International Humanitarian Law (1996-2010) at MLS and also the Foundation Director of the Asia Pacific Centre for Military Law (2001-2010).
To return to judge the GF this year: Rain Liivoja and Pip Ross.
Rain is the book review editor of the Finnish Yearbook of International Law and a member of the editorial boards of several journals. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Society for Military Law and the Law of War, and a member of the Australian Red Cross International Humanitarian Law Committee (Victorian Division).
Pip is the National Reporting & Resources Coordinator at the Australian Red Cross (ARC). She was responsible for writing this year’s moot and judges brief for the ALSA/Australian Red Cross IHL moot competition and oversees all of the ARC's training and curriculum and program quality around the country.
