Meet the Academics

Michal Carrington
Michal teaches and researches in the areas of marketing ethics, marketing theory, strategic marketing, retail management/marketing, ethical consumption, consumer culture and consumer behaviour. Prior to entering academia, Michal spent almost a decade working for Unilever in Australia and the UK. Her research has appeared in the Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Business Research and Higher Education Research and Development. Michal holds a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Melbourne, and a PhD also from the University of Melbourne.

Dr. Ilkka Ojansivu
Ilkka completed his doctoral thesis in October 2014 at the Oulu Business School (Finland) and earned his Ph.D. (D.Sc.) in December 2014. In the thesis “Exploring the underlying dynamics of buyer-seller interaction in project afterlife” Ojansivu provided conceptual and empirical foundations for the study of post-project business relationships. His research has been published in journals such as Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Business and Industrial Marketing and International Journal of Project Management on themes such as business relationship dynamics, organising issues in projects, and institutional theory. Ojansivu commenced as a Lecturer in Marketing at the University of Melbourne in February 2016. Currently, he teaches Product Management and Marketing Management courses. Before the academic career Ilkka enjoyed life as a professional snowboarder traveling around the globe in search of perfect snow. Today, surfing keeps him grounded and in tune with nature.
