Hi FilmSocers and members of the Turkish Society!

This week we are very excited to be collaborating with Melbourne University Turkish Society to present to you the Turkish drama:

ONCE UPON A TIME IN ANATOLIA / BIR ZAMANLAR ANADOLU'DA (Ceylan, 2011)

Based on a true experience, the film tells the story about a group of men who conduct a nighttime search for a homicide victim buried in the Anatolian Steppes and the tensions that arise during this single night.

Recently included in the BBC's top 100 films of the 21st century and winner of multiple international film awards, ONCE UPON A TIME IN ANATOLIA is a Turkish masterpiece that should not be missed!

This week we'll be providing FREE PIDES AND BOREKS in honour of traditional Turkish cuisine. And as usual, there will be a range of drinks available!

BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE: After the screening at ~5:20pm, we'll be heading down to the Shaw Davey Slum (5 mins walk from uni) for FREE BEER/CIDER & CHIPS and a chat about the film with members from both societies - just follow the committee after the screening!

IN ADDITION TO THE TRIP TO THE PUB: if time permits and we have enough members hanging around after a few drinks, we may check out the nearby shisha bar, Leyalina!

Friday 2nd September, 2pm
