Hi FilmSocers and Astronomers!

This week we are very excited to be collaborating with Melbourne Uni Astronomical Society to present to you the classic space movie:

APOLLO 13 (Howard, 1995)

Based on the events of the Apollo 13 lunar mission, Tom Hanks, Bill Paxton and Kevin Bacon star as the three astronauts who find themselves stranded in space when an oxygen tank explodes on-board. With limited available power and communication with Houston, the team must survive the trip home, despite the numerous technical problems that threaten their lives.

Considered as one of the best space films of all time, Apollo 13 went on to be nominated for 9 Academy Awards as well as included on several AFI top 100 lists. And even though you may know how this story ends, the film will have you at the very edge of your seat!

***SPECIAL START TIME***
