The Art History Student Society is pleased to present: DEGAS Melbourne Winter Masterpieces Annual Lecture for 2016, as our inaugural celebration coinciding with the National Gallery of Victoria's Melbourne Winter Masterpieces Exhibition, Degas: A new vision.

Held on the 20th of September at 1.30 in the Linkway Room of the John Medley Building. The talk will be led by Ted Gott, the NGV's Senior Curator of International Art, and Holly McGowan-Jackson, the NGV's Senior Conservator of Frames and Furniture.

The exhibition closes on the 18th of September, so be sure to see it before joining us to discuss the many challenges of curating the season's largest blockbuster exhibition. Ted will discuss his role as support curator for the Degas exhibition’s curator Henri Loyrette whilst Holly will focus on the reframing of Portrait of a Woman and Degas frame designs.
