When:
27 November, 2015

Location:
Melbourne Law School

Organised by:
MUDS Melbourne University Debating Club

You are a debater at a reasonably prestigious (but not overly so) university, which has a moderate level of funding. You are attempting to plan your Summer holidays but are interested in attending a premier mini tournament over one weekend. You aren't likely to commit to a tournament on the basis of any ghost technology offered at this tournament. Hypothetically, you would be interested in a tournament which has excellent CAs, great socials and a good vibe. However, due to your disdain for hypotheticals, you are interested in confirming certain details, such as dates.

This house, as Vincent Chiang, would attend this tournament.

Chief adjudicators:

When it comes to picking CA's for Minis, we don’t mess around. A stringent set of criteria have been implemented to ensure quality.

1. Broken at every major tournament.
2. Top 10 speakers at Australs.
3. Top 30 speakers at Worlds.
4. DCA of Easters 2015.
5. Have lost no fingers to debating, and are able to lend perspective and relativity to the broader importance of organised competitive debating.

The last one kind of screwed us.

But we still managed to scrounge together a power team.

Featuring a lack of overly concerning self-imposed digital amputation, and a hyper-disdainful approach to hypothetical motions, MUDSian James Gray is more than capable. That’s not to say perfect angel, but we've balanced him against a prominent defector to Canberra. Who has risen to prominence in recent years? Who has achieved remarkable things? Who writes some pretty innovative motions? Naturally, we approached Abigail McCarthy.

Last, but definitely not least, Tyrone Connell will join the CA team. Whilst he didn't DCA at Easters, we think he more than made up for it by winning Best Speaker at Australs this year.
