Hi! My name is Tina and I'm in my fourth year of a Psychology degree. As a tutor, I can help by explaining any content that may be a bit confusing, working through questions with you, and providing any other support you may need to gain a better understanding of the topics. I really enjoy tutoring students and try to make learning as fun as possible - and I really enjoy seeing students have that "Ohhh I get it now!" moment. Check out the references at the bottom of the page :)

My overall grade for LING111 was a High Distinction. I received 100% for the phonemic transcription and morphological analysis assignment, and High Distinctions for the other assignments. I completely understand that the content in this unit can be a bit daunting at first (I have been there myself!) but I can assure you that you'll find it really fun once you get the hang of it. The key to doing well is PRACTICE! :)

LING217 & LING220:
I've also studied LING217 and LING220, and achieved High Distinctions for both. I received 97% for the transcription assignments and 95-100% for the syntax assignments and quizzes.

There are really cool patterns that will help you with the assessment tasks! Here's a transcription tip to get you started:
Remember, every syllable has a nucleus (vowel sound). So if you count the number of syllables in a word, that's how many vowel sounds there are as well. Hope this helps with those tricky words such as 'spontaneity'.
5 syllables = 5 vowel sounds in your transcription :)

My overall grade for BIOL122 was a High Distinction and I received 95+% for all of the assessment tasks. I would recommend BIOL122 to anyone who is studying Psychology, as many of the topics overlap.

My overall grade for COGS101 was a High Distinction (97), and I received a Department of Cognitive Science award for my performance in this unit. I received 96% for the research report and 99% for the final exam (50/50 for multiple choice and 19.5/20 for essay questions). I really enjoyed this unit and would be happy to help you with it!

My notes for COGS101 can also be purchased on StudentVIP.

Feel free to ask me any questions - I am always happy to help! :)

Tina is an amazing tutor. I had problems understanding all parts of LING 111, especially syntax and had failed the course once before meeting Tina.
This time I am receiving high distinctions and I owe it to Tina's assistance. She is better at explaining the concepts than other tutors from university. For me it is definitely worth it to have Tina as a tutor.

Tina has been tutoring me for nearly 2 years now and I would not have it any other way! She is the best tutor I have ever had. She tutored me for Ling217 and I always looked forward to our lessons every week! That is how amazing she is. If you are struggling with any of the units she tutors she will teach you amazingly!

Tina tutored me for LING217 and she was super helpful! She explained everything in a way I could understand and I don't think I would be able to do my exam without her help. I would highly recommend her if you are struggling with any part of the unit.

Tina is one amazing person. coming from no background of linguistic she helped me so much and went beyond what she needed to do. in the beginning of starting the unit of LING111 i was quite hesitant and regretting it but as tina helped me to better understand it, i thoroughly enjoyed it and found it interesting. she is quite a joyful person to study with aswell.

She had amazing explaining skills which made it easy for me to understand the course content. I will continue to be tutored by Tina throughout the entire semester!
