USYD Science Tutor Hannah
Rote learning is dumb. Listen more than you speak. Girls are good at maths. Attitude is everything. Science is creative. Ya yeet. 'Nuff said.
HOW I ROLL
* No rote learning! You need to understand the big picture.
* Drawing! It doesn't matter how scrappy your notes are, it matters that you remember it.
* Expect me to say, "now, explain that to me in your own words."
* Often runs overtime with no extra charge because your learning takes priority.
* Available via SMS/email 24/7 for a cheeky question, uni-induced panic sesh, or meme with an immediate reply not guaranteed, but likely.
CURRENT BIO (2019)
This is the fourth year of my Bachelor of Medical Science (majoring in Immunology and the History and Philosophy of Science) at USYD. I am currently undertaking a year of Honours (Discipline of Infectious Diseases & Immunology in the Charles Perkins Centre) under the co-supervision of Dr. Theerthankar Das & Dr. Jim Manos. I have an American accent. In all honesty, I am an above average student because of hard work, not because I have this super-duper nerd ability. I understand what it feels like to be lost in a subject in week 10, and then somehow turn it all around before the final exam. I also know what it feels like to think I have everything under control, and then scrape by a subject with a pass mark. Uni is hard, but it doesn't have to be a miserable experience!
With a patchwork high school science education, I have a unique perspective to navigating university-level science. I can teach you how I wrapped my head around tricky topics, giving my high-achieving peers a run for their money.
SOS WRITING FOR SCIENCE STUDENTS
For every science student that says they can't write, I'm here for you. I was you. Science students are notoriously rubbish writers, but if they remain that way it is by choice. There is no secret to a good essay - write, edit, and repeat! I can be a fresh set of eyes on your paper, guiding you to a stronger paper. I will teach you skills you can apply to future writing tasks, helping you harness your ability.
STUDENTS WITH ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE
I also spent six years at school in my second language, so I would love to help anyone who needs some extra help when they are learning in English if it is their second language. Soy una gringa, pero puedo ayudar a los estudiantes que prefieren hablar Español.

Hannah is one of the most patient, thoughtful people I have ever been taught by. She never thought I was asking stupid questions, and if I didn't understand something she was always happy to explain it differently until I did. I love her interactive teaching methods with lots of images and diagrams and discussion. I highly recommend her to anyone!
