I'm Matt, a Rhodes Scholar and PhD candidate at Oxford University. I did my undergrad at ANU where I completed a PhB in physics and mathematics, finishing with First Class Honours, the University Medal, the John Carver Prize, and the Australian Institute of Physics TH Laby Medal for the best physics Honours or Masters thesis in Australia. I subsequently worked in roles in academia, a strategy consultancy, and a quantum technology startup, and I'm now pursuing a PhD in quantum technology at the University of Oxford under a Rhodes Scholarship.
I have 5 years of experience as a member of teaching staff at ANU and Oxford, having tutored PHYS1101, PHYS2013, PHYS2201, MATH1003, and MATH3511 at ANU, and currently TA'ing C3: Quantum Mechanics at Oxford. I'm also experienced in one-on-one tutoring, and currently work in this capacity as a Graduate Mentor at Merton College, Oxford. I've also held roles in other parts of the education sphere, such as being an examiner for an international Olympiad, and serving as an interviewer for an elite international scholarship.
In addition to tutoring on subject material, I can provide consultation on matters which I am knowledgeable about, such as career planning, preparing for postgraduate study, research skills, scientific writing, interviews, applying to elite strategy consultancies, and data science skills. (Please note that I will not provide consultation on Rhodes Scholarship applications.)
Looking forward to meeting you!
