Hello. My name is Matthew and I completed a Bachelor of Advanced Science (Hons I), majoring in Neuroscience in 2014, with a total HD WAM of 90 and received the Faculty of Adv Science Award twice (2011, 2013), as well as Pharmacology Prize for 3rd Year (2013). In 2015, I started a PhD candidature by research in Psychiatry through the UNSW Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing, with a focus on lipids in healthy ageing and Alzheimer's Disease, to conclude in 2019.

I have previously tutored for high school and 1st year. Tuition is designed to be an interactive experience to consolidate material learnt in lectures and answer key questions and ensure personal understanding of concepts, as well as encouraging students to investigate further. I am also happy to provide feedback on scientific report writing, mini/literature reviews and presentations, especially for those keen on taking up Honours and postgraduate level research. Any areas where I am not sure I will endeavour to find a quick response.

In the case of one-to-one tuition especially for first year students, multidisciplinary tuition is available (eg. a student can enquire for a chemistry course, and also ask for some informal BABS/BIOC or MATH related help on the side where suitable).

I am also available for consultation of third year Neuroscience (Neurophysiology/Cellular Molecular Neuroscience) and Pharmacology (Clinical and Experimental Pharmacology, Molecular Pharmacology and Neuropharmacology) courses.

Standard tuition is 1hr, maximum 2hrs.
First lesson: includes an optional extra 15 minutes of tuition for free.
Group tuition is charged at $30 per student/hr (minimum 2 students, maximum 3).
Appointment schedule is flexible, and need not be regular (students can set up when they feel a lesson appropriate, be that one-off, a meeting every 3 weeks etc.).
