Dr. Brett Ferdinand was awarded numerous scholarships en route to graduating with honors in a B.Sc. program. The format and look of this book is user-friendly, however don't rely on it for a comprehensive guide to the GAMSAT. Sections I and II are glossed over, even though they make up half of the exam. Section III is clearly broken up into the three sciences and all three are presented in the same way: information and facts. This is fine if you're have lots of time on your hands and simply want to learn the basics of each topic. For GAMSAT, Physics and Chemistry problems are based both on factual information and understanding, for which the textbook may help, but Biology is certainly not. The Biology section should have charts and graphs as presented in the exam, to get the reader used to reading from them rather than from pictures and paragraphs of information. Very little previous knowledge of Biology is actually required for the exam - I wasted a lot of time going through this section in detail when I first bought the book.
The online access card provided with the book is actually the best part - problems are discussed and clearly explained through videos. These were definitely beneficial. The full set of videos covering the section III course can only be viewed once, i.e. a clock times your viewing time. Rewinding and rewatching some videos will therefore mean you will not have time for all of them so choose wisely!

Overall, I would not recommend this book unless you are planning to sit the GAMSAT well in the future and you're using it as a starting point. I would instead suggest watching you-tube videos and getting the 'Dummies' series of study guides. And be sure to get plenty of section II practice!
