    When I took thermodynamics, I only used course notes from my professor as my actual text book. I only used this text for the reference tables in the back. The reference tables are incredible and probably unparalleled by any other text out there. I have heard complaints trying to use the textbook as a textbook, and I can't comment on that. I can say if you are doing thermos in industry the most important thing you are going to need are the reference tables. This text book gets five stars for that.

    This isn't too bad a book to read. It was my 4th year book for Advanced energy systems. It is more suitable for 1st or 2nd year studies. It is one of the few books that is readable from cover to cover. Each section has hundreds of questions for the enthusiastic budding engineer to do. This however is where it also falls down. There are no answers. Therefore doing questions as a form of training becomes pointless if you cannot compare results to see how far or close you get. There was a slip of paper in the book pointing to a student companion site where I thought the answers may be contained. Unfortunately that web page no longer exists. Unless they get this sorted out I cannot recommend this book.
