4.0 out of 5 stars Photograph 51
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI did not not know it was a play, thought it was a novel or so.
The characters are very well delineated although I am not sure that whether their feelings and actions as they appear are the real ones. The character Wilkins comes out very very badly, whereas in the science field it does not that much. In any case, it makes it a very good reading. I would like to see it on stage.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow!
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI have not been able to see this play yet, but heard the buzz, so bought the script. As a scientist, I was very familiar with the story of Rosalind Franklin and her contributions to solving the structure of DNA, and also the other players. The characters are captured fully and in an imaginative and engaging way. This is one of the best plays I have ever read, and I will travel across the country if I need to, to get to see it come to life.

4.0 out of 5 stars More armchair than theatre seat
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseA well constructed and interesting modern play with well explored themes of gender equality, the morality of science, obsession, competition and co-operation based on the real-life story of Rosalind Franklin and her involvement with X-ray and DNA. But it is not a very theatrical play and apart from a visual moment near the end it really works just as well as a script for reading. Which is a lot cheaper!
