Excellent book!

This semester, I decided to refrain from taking a college class and just buy one of the textbooks for the classes. I decided to buy this book since I substitute teach and I wanted to better understand how children think. The book is excellent. Not only does it explain what children are able to learn at various ages, but it also explains how to assess whether or not children have reached these milestones of learning. It reviews some basic child development theories presented through the years and what parts of these theories are now considered to be good measures of a child's abilities. This was especially helpful to me, since I hadn't taken a course in child psychology since the 1980s. The book provides sample assessments at the end of each chapter, and the information is very easy to read. I consider this to be a very helpful book for anyone who wants to understand how young children learn math and science.

A wonderful Book for Early Childhood -100% Satisfaction Guaranteed.

I been a primary teacher for three years and this textbook has helped me to understand in depth how concept is developed in regards Math and Science. I am not a math person at all; once I got to the section that goes towards primary grades activities that are the foundation for algebra, geometry, trigonometry I was first confused, then impressed. I finally got a better grasp on these concepts that were always a reason to hesitate and double guess as a child. My daughter was having the same problems as me but now I now where to find the gaps and how to build up from there so my 4th grader and my Autistic child who is in 5th will learn it in a friendly and efficient way. 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed.

Reviewed in the United States on 5 December 2018Verified Purchase
I have ordered this book for a course. Although there is a newer version that the course ask for I ordered this Edition to save money. While this Edition does not offer some of the added material of the new book there such minor differences at this book Works wonderfully for my course. The saving me almost $70. The book is well written and I do believe it will be a useful resource book for school once I've completed this course.
