By far the most comprehensive IHRL textbook I have encountered. Theory is well fleshed out and case studies within chapters make it easy to put in practice. I highly recommend it!

Review
'In a sea of human rights textbooks, International Human Rights Law and Practice by Professor Ilias Bantekas and Dr Lutz Oette stands out as a fresh explanation not only of the 'what' but of the 'why' and the 'how' of human rights. The text is unique in its detailed yet accessible practice focus. It is a key text for all students of human rights law who are interested in understanding how to apply the law to an array of practical situations … The third edition is greatly expanded with much new material, including new case studies and interviews and a new section on the human rights of vulnerable groups and persons.' Carla Ferstman, University of Essex
'Professor Bantekas and Dr Oette's book on international human rights law and practice has over the years been established as an essential point of reference and as an authoritative contribution for those teaching, learning or practising international human rights. The third edition comes to enrich the topics covered in the book with yet more analysis, examples and resources, as well as to introduce the topic concerning the human rights of vulnerable groups and persons. Well-written and well-researched, the book succeeds, once again, to provide a well-rounded and in-depth analysis of some of the most contemporary global challenges concerning the protection of human rights, both in theory and in practice.' Elena Katselli, Newcastle University
