This book was mentioned Jonathan Shewchuk at Berkeley for CS61B, I bought the book after listening to his lectures. I found the concepts clearly explained, especially compared to other algorithm of rain offerings. The subject can be mind numbing if badly explained. Good explanation about recursion. Like Lafores Algorithms book, not the only source you will need to gain an understanding of this important field.
G&T do a C++ version, which also gets bad reviews, I liked both. I must admit that learning this subject is like digging a garden after a downpour, hard work but worth it at the end of it. I would try Lafore (an old book now, 2003) and then this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Data Structures & Algorithms
Verified PurchaseI bought this version because I read that the student version had many errors.
I checked a few chapters and it has errors, which make me think that they didn't fix anything on this version. I think I would have been better off buying the International Version, which was $20 cheaper, for the same content.

5.0 out of 5 stars The explanations and examples in the book are very well written and give a great abstract interpretation of Java ADT's
Verified PurchaseI rented this book for a class. The class was well taught so the book was just there for peace of mind. The explanations and examples in the book are very well written and give a great abstract interpretation of Java ADT's.
