5.0 out of 5 stars Professor Saunders at highest level
Verified PurchaseGreat book whit plenty of examples and with lots of subtle details, always a pleasure to read it. Edited with much care and with deeper insight that previous editions (I have the 4th as well), so I'd recommend it for postgrads level. For doctorate though this might be only a good start, but good enough to get an impulse and look forward if need more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Clear, concise, reliable and is written in a way that allows you to dip in and out as you need.
Verified PurchaseI found this book quite by accident, but pleased I did. I am writing a thesis and whilst I know what I want to study and say, putting it into the language and layout that the university expects is a complicated and somewhat obtuse affair. Sadly, if your thesis doesn't look right or isn't structured as expected, often it contaminates the markers view on it when they come to read the actual content (first impression and other biases). This book is the solution to this problem. It tells me what I need to consider, why, what other options I have, and then examples to put it into context. Essentially the what, when, why and how of thesis writing. It's a huge book but you don't need to read it from cover to cover to get utility from it. Just dip in where you need some guidance such as research strategy or questionnaire design, read a few pages left and right of your area of focus and you are ready to go. Thank you Mark, Philip and Adrian, your work has made this academic undertaking a little more bearable.
