Great dictionary
Reviewed in the United States on 10 May 2011Verified Purchase
This dictionary is great for it's size and has most of the common entries. It has a plastic cover so it should be pretty durable. It is small so it fits just about anywhere. It does not use romaji so you have to be able to read Hiragana/Katakana, but that is a good thing because it forces you to read kana, so it will only improve your reading skills. Just know this is not an complete dictionary because of it's small size.

Nice Thick Japanese Dictionary
Reviewed in the United States on 17 June 2012Verified Purchase
It is really nice and thick yet able to fit in a pocket. Alas, it is not in Romanji :(
As a learning tool this leaves much to be desired. It is only helpful for writing Japanese in my opinion and not for the casual tourist or student of Japanese. It is more advanced.
Overall, this is a nice Japanese dictionary for an intermediate or even advanced student of the Japanese language. The user must understand some Japanese script, however. As such it is a wonderful little book.

Perfect dictionary for the size and price.

The minute I got this book, I started reading the first section. I love how it uses Kana and Kanji, and lists the words properly. I also find the explanations very good. As far as I saw, most words you will need will be there, although maybe under a British spelling or word.
In addition, the phrasebook (The middle 32 pages) is a nice addition, not something I really need, however. It is truly amazing how much info is in it.
