The eighth edition of General, Organic, and Biochemistry is designed to help undergraduate health-related majors, and students of all other majors, understand key concepts and appreciate the significant connections between chemistry, health, disease, and the treatment of disease. This text continues to strike a balance between theoretical and practical chemistry, while emphasizing material that is unique to health-related studies. The text has been written at a level intended for students whose professional goals do not include a mastery of chemistry, but for whom an understanding of the principles and practice of chemistry is a necessity. Designed for the one- or two-semester course, this text has an easy-to-follow problem-solving pedagogy, vivid illustrations, and engaging applications

Rented Textbook
Reviewed in the United States on 25 February 2016Verified Purchase
I rented this textbook and it was in very nice condition. I highly recommend you rent this if you are able to. As for the book itself, it was organized very well and I found it very useful. It's not the most exciting topic in my opinion, but the textbook does a good job of making it slightly less boring.

Review for used book rental
Reviewed in the United States on 2 March 2014Verified Purchase
This book came super fast and it's a nice way not to have to buy a book you are never going to look at after the class. It is in great used condition with barely worn/bent edges and binding and no writing in it. I will treat it well!

Great book when you need to understand the basic and semi-advanced organic chemistry. Well illustrated book with really good step by step exercises.

I really didn't use the book that much to write anything useful in my review
Reviewed in the United States on 5 December 2016Verified Purchase
This book met the requirements for my class. I really didn't use the book that much to write anything useful in my review. The book was exactly what I requested in my order.
