The Art of Earth Science
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 October 2014Verified Purchase
I first became fascinated with Plate Tectonics in the late 1970's when studying with the Open University. In the course of completing my degree, I went on to study Geology, Geophysics, Geochemistry and Environment. I really enjoyed the Earth Sciences, but found a lot of the theory and thought experiments difficult to grasp at first. Had this book been available to me at that time, it would have proved quite indispensable. It covers such a wide range of Earth Sciences in a manner that is easily readable while the quality, and quantity, of the illustrations are something to die for. They greatly add to the overall clarity of the written material making it easier to grasp. While it is primarily intended as a text book for people studying Earth Sciences at higher levels, the work is so readable that the serious general reader wanting to find out more about the workings of our Planet will find it engrossing. Highly recommend.

Wonderful book, one I cannot praise highly enough. If you are looking for some grounding in this subject, this would be a very worthwhile investment. Although it is expensive, it is worth every penny.
