Im guten Sinne typisch amerikanisch. Ein Lehrbuch ohne Schnörkel und unnötigen Ballast, speziell geschrieben für die (hochqualifizierten) Pflegekräfte kardiologischer Kliniken und Ambulanzen, Intensivstationen, Notaufnahmen. Locker geschrieben, übersichtlich und einprägsam. Die einzelnen kardialen Krankheitsbilder werden mit ihren ersten Symptomen, danach im vollen Erscheinungsbild und schließlich in der Therapie knapp und klar erläutert, wobei von basalen Grundkenntnissen ausgegangen wird. Danach dann immer wieder, fast stereotyp wie mit einem Dampfhammer, genaue Hinweise, auf das, was beachtet man muss, was kontrolliert werden muss, wann Alarm gegeben werden muss.
Das Niveau ist insgesamt hoch, in einigen Punkten sehr hoch, wenn z.B. Herzrhythmusstörungen im EKG erläutert und dabei die verschiedenen Formen des SA-Blocks oder anderer diffiziler Überleitungsstörungen erläutert werden. Es ist kein 'Lehrbuch' im engeren Sinne, sondern auch ein 'Nachschlagwerk' für verschiedene kardiologische Situationen.
Auch für den jungen, noch kardiologisch unerfahrenen Assistenzarzt ist dieses Buch ein guter Einstieg vor Beginn der Arbeit auf einer Kardiologischen 'Station', zumal ihm der alltägliche, pflegerische und überwachungstechnische 'Routinebetrieb' nahe gebracht wird.

I flipped through this book and I’m super excited to start studying it and my medsurg textbook tomorrow. I’m hoping it’ll help me pass my cardiac medsurg test with the grade I need! So far, I really love the format. My only issue is that I bought it brand new and the binding was damaged and I’m a little upset. Other than that, I’ll update you on my grade in a couple weeks :) I love the “made incredibly easy” books so we’ll see if it makes cardiac nursing incredibly easy for my blonde self lol.
