This book was fairly interesting, starting with a young woman who has always been obsessed with leaving Sydney just finishing uni, she then falls in love and travels to NYC. I think to like a book you have to like at least one of the characters, and although I felt for the main characters, flaws and all, I still felt that she was disengaged from the reader (maybe it was because she couldnt stand Australia/hence Australians....which I am). The exploration of the self-obsessed but ultimately shallow New Yorkers was interesting, and could be applied to anyone from anywhere who believes they are saving the world and rattling the establishment, but dont like to inconvenience themselves with small matters such as being decent to one another. Interesting reading, but not as memorable as I had expected.

3.0 out of 5 stars An Entertaining Book.
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI liked parts of this book very much. The beginning was excellent. However I thought the development was quite weak, the author dwelling more on the of oddities of the personalities. This was to such an extent that, to me, no particular character felt genuine all of the time. But there was sufficient good writing to make the book enjoyable although there was not a lot of purpose in the lives of the characters.
