Great comprehensive internal medicine book!
This is the first internal medicine book that I have actually committed to reading.
The best part about this book is that it's readable. I made it through step 2 ck and almost all my rotations using small 'review books' and I was relying on memorization; however, with this book you get a concise yet comprehensive review by organ system that gives you an understanding, such that you come away knowing the material without the memorization.
I wish I had read this book earlier in my academic career. It's a great book that can be used for review or to follow along during rotations. If you want quick facts, get a Washington Manual. If you want an in-depth understanding that lasts, get Cecil's.

Fantastic!

Well written, easy to read and great explanations. This is my go-to book when I need a refresher on pathophysiology during 3rd and 4th year of medical school. Originally I rented it but I will be buying it to keep.

Great for Residents, like me.

As an intern in IM I have enjoyed this book. It goes back to the basics, long forgotten, and melds it with the complexity of residency. Very recommended. Good as review material in addition to MKSAP16 and similar Qbanks.

Great for Systems Pathology
Reviewed in the United States on 16 December 2012Verified Purchase
Great for 2nd/3rd year medical school. It is written very clearly, with clinical and evidence based medicine perspective on everything. It still goes over some of the basic sciences and pathology involved. Strongly recommend it for systems based medical school programs or 3rd year medicine clerkship.
