This was a gift for a friend who purchased a used machine for home hair removal after her transition. With the information in this book she has been very successful in learning to use the machine on herself. She does have a background working with this kind of equipment in other settings-- this is not something I would recommend for just anyone to dive into. But if you're willing to put in the time and energy to do the research, and have acquired a reliable machine, this book is a good and economical resource to learn from.
