#BeUnstoppable with Serway/Vuille's College Physics!

Worked examples: a complete learning experience.

Worked Examples break down problems step by step. The solution uses a two-column format that provides explanations on the left and mathematical steps on the right, serving as a training tool. Remarks highlight underlying concepts, following the solution.

How is physics relevant to my life?

Application margin notes make the relevance of physics to everyday life more obvious, by pointing out specific applications in the text.

Guided problems train you to break down complex problems.

Guided Problems break a problem into smaller steps, enabling you to grasp all the concepts and strategies required to arrive at a correct solution.

Gauge your comprehension with quick quizzes.

Quick Quizzes provide you with opportunities to test your understanding of the physical concepts presented.

This book arrived in good condition and came already in a binder. It was well packaged and arrived in a timely manor. I ended up returning it because I dropped the class that I purchased it for, but the book itself was in great condition!

I really like to keep college level text books around, and have found that Cengage Learning really publishes the best textbooks. I am focusing on studying Math and so often there are practical word problems that involve physics and I would go to a physics text book to get a better idea of what I'm looking at. At my University, where I take classes once in a while on the Senior Program, I bought a "University Physics" book by Young and Freedman published by Pearson. Well Pearson Publishing sucks. The book is horrid. the equations are over cluttered with superscripts and subscripts and there is little explanation, and everything is treated as process: when you have this, then do that. It reminds me of ancient Babylon where the surveyors weren't taught to do calculation but were given huge tables with various dimensional proportions and scalers and they would have to simply find the closest match... good enough. Anyway, I was tired of dealing with the Pearson book and searched for a Cengage Learning book. Found this book in paperback and when it arrived I was delighted with it. I was in suspense. Maybe the Physics Departments all over had a culture of being stupid, you know, the designers of the Death Plane the Boeing 737 Stretch, or whatever it's called, well, it came from somewhere. But, yes, Cengage publishers makes it look like Math Department.
