Amy Reed was born and raised in and around Seattle, where she attended a total of eight schools by the time she was eighteen. Constant moving taught her to be restless, and being an only child made her imagination do funny things. After a brief stint at Reed College (no relation), she moved to San Francisco and spent the next several years serving coffee and getting into trouble. She eventually graduated from film school, promptly decided she wanted nothing to do with filmmaking, returned to her original and impractical love of writing, and earned her MFA from New College of California. After thirteen years in the Bay Area, she now resides in Asheville, North Carolina.

Amy is the award-winning author of BEAUTIFUL (2009), CLEAN (2011), CRAZY (2012), OVER YOU (2013), and DAMAGED (2014), all with Simon Pulse/Simon & Schuster. Her two-book series, INVINCIBLE (2015) and UNFORGIVABLE (2016) were published by Katherine Tegen/Harper Collins. This book touched on so many different emotions and thoughts, that as a reader, I had to catch my breath. Seeing how Evie slowly slipped away in her mind and distanced herself from others as the cancer took over and death was just around the corner was startling. But it also made me question how I'd react, especially with all the other issues going on.
Then, when a miracle happens and Evie is cancer free, the author does a wonderful job showing what types of problems could come up. There is some romance as well, but not in a typical fashion either as both are dealing with problems. Jokes are more normal than serious talks.
I am honestly unsure how else to describe the book and the thoughts, emotions, and the powerful imagery in this book without giving away too much. I highly recommend this book!

My summary:
After surviving terminal cancer and finding out that instead of just a couple weeks to live, Evie finds herself healthier than she had been in an a year since her diagnosis. Struggling to understand why she gets to live while her "sick best friend" past away, Evie begins pushing the boundaries. She seems to have forgotten and/or lost who she was beforehand. No one seems to realize just how bad things are except for someone named Marcus, who she met while trying to escape from rhe confines she feels surrounding her.
He has his own issues, but finds himself attracted to her and tries his best to help her deal. At first, Evie believes Marcus is on her side, but than feels he is turning against her. As she continues down a path of destruction, her family and Marcus grow more and more concerned about her, she resists his help and grows even further away from those who wish to help her.
