About the Author

Andrew Eiden is an actor and winner of the AudioFile Earphones Award for narration. He has been acting since the age of four, working at regional theaters, in national commercials, and on numerous television shows.



Jennifer Lynn Alvarez received a degree in English literature from the University of California at Berkeley. She blogs about her books and the publishing business and speaks regularly at schools about creative writing. She lives on a small ranch in Northern California with her husband, three children, and their horses. When writing her books, she draws on her lifelong love of animals for inspiration.

Jennifer Lynn Alvarez is the author of two YA thrillers, FRIENDS LIKE THESE and LIES LIKE WILDFIRE, and two middle grade fantasy series, THE GUARDIAN HERD and RIDERS OF THE REALM. She earned her degree in English Literature from UC Berkeley and volunteers for SCBWI. The Pet Washer is her indie novel. Jennifer splits her time between Northern California and Middle Tennessee with her husband, three children, and more than her fair share of pets.

    I honestly love this series more than anything, for me it’s on the same level as the Pegasus series, which is saying A LOT. I’ve laughed and cried, and been so angry with the characters, and I loved every second. I’ve read this series over 30 times now, as a horse lover I can’t stop going back. If you love horses, this is a must read
