4.0 out of 5 stars Helped me with Board Certification Test
Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseThis book isn't up to date per se (OTC's in particular), however, the basic information it contains is fantastic. I give credit to this textbook for helping me to pass the national exam for NBC-HIS, without which I feel I may have very likely failed. The book is thorough in its approach to hearing aids and contains a great amount of information that all hearing professionals need to know. I keep my copy in my library as a ready reference. The only reason that I do not give it five stars is that it is 10 years old. Apart from this, it is an excellant book to study and keep as a useful reference. I highly recommend it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too old but some ok basic concepts
Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseThis book was published in 2001. As such there is no information regarding open fit OTE hearing aids. I also could not find any information regarding cochlear dead regions and the use of hearing aid fitting for patients who may have that problem.
If you can find a cheap used copy maybe think about it but overall it is a dated reference. Do an internet search at Hearing Journal, Hearing Review, American Academy of Audiology, or any number of other sites and get better more up to date information then this.
