5.0 out of 5 stars Great text book, but crazy intense. Tiny font.
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseMy brain is not wired for understanding abstract theory like psychology, but I used this textbook for a required college Child Psychology course. The material was (thankfully) well organized and concise. The content is dense, and as I read I felt like the book was constantly trying to punch me in the face. My biggest complaint, however, is that the text is super tiny, like maybe 8pt font or less, and the font style triggered my dyslexia (the kind where the center of the text disappears and swirls around), which was interesting for a book about learning and processing information. Even though I had difficulty reading the actual text, I slogged through, and did well in the class. I ended up giving this book to a prison guard friend of mine, suggesting that it may enlighten him. If you want a good text book about Child Psychology, and you can read super tiny font, this is an excellent book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not so 'new'
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI paid a little extra for a 'new' book. When it came in the mail, the front and back cover was bent along the corners and were slightly scratched. A large strip of packing tape was placed along the spine (it appears that it started to come apart). Doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the pages of the book though.
