About the author
I discovered Medical Technology in Junior High School when I read a book whose main character was a Medical Technologist (now known as Medical Laboratory Scientists). I continue to find the field fascinating.
I have worked on the bench and taught both medical technology students, medical laboratory technician students and phlebotomy students. I received several awards for my teaching (St. Louis Community College at Forest Park Teacher of the Year, Governor's Award for Excellence in Teaching, Emerson Electric Co. Award for Excellence in Teaching and Who's Who Among America's Teachers). I am pround of my students and their contributions to healthcare and the profession.
I discovered that I enjoyed writing and have had several articles, one chapter, and this textbook published. I hope to continue writing in the future.
