This book is probably one of the best textbooks I've purchased in a while. It is perfect for anyone who's in medical school or in any aspect of the medical/health field. Personally I felt like this book truly tied in all of the relevant information from embryology, anatomy, biochemistry, pharmacology etc to it's applicable organ system. Die Grafiken sind die besten, die ich bisher in dem Bereich gesehen habe. Der Style ist sehr modern, und alle Zeichnungen etc. sind mit zeitgemäßen Computerprogrammen erstellt - es gibt nicht viele (wenn überhaupt) "Überbleibsel" aus alten Lehrbüchern oder Vorauflagen.

Aufgrund der modernen Grafiken macht das Lesen Freude und gerade wer visuell lernt, kommt hier auf seine Kosten. Die texte sind ausführlich genug, um Grundlagen zu erklären. Mir haben besonders die Kapitel zum Herz-Kreislauf System gefallen.

Bei den Texten hakt es manchmal an der Grammatik, zumindest empfinde ich das so. Die Schrift ist sehr klein aber gerade noch akzeptabel.

Inhaltlich wird alles ausreichend abgedeckt und ist den Referenzen nach auf dem aktuellsten Stand bei Veröffentlichung der vorliegenden Auflage.

Kritikpunkte gibt es wenige: Der Satzbau ist manchmal nicht ganz optimal und bei einigen Abbildungen/Zeichnungen wünscht man sich weitere Strukturen benannt (wenn auch die wichtigsten Sachen in den Zeichnungen benannt werden, gibt es doch manchmal Dinge, die nicht gekennzeichnet sind).

Es gibt auch Alternativen, die ausführlicheren Text bieten aber dann eben nicht mit den Abbildungen mithalten können:

Porth's Pathophysiology (Sheila Grossman, Carol Mattson Porth), 9. Auflage

Pathophysiology: The Biologic Basis for Disease in Adults and Children (Kathryn L. McCance, Sue E. Huether) 7. Auflage
